Arsenal returned to the top of the Barclays Premier League standings following a 3-1 victory against Stoke City, while Swansea City were 2-0 winners at Crystal Palace.
Aaron Ramsey continued his free-scoring ways by opening the deadlock for the Gunners after just five minutes, and although the visitors equalised in the first half through Geoff Cameron, the Gunners rallied with headers, on 36 and 72 minutes, from defenders Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna. Like Ramsey’s effort, the assist for those goals came from club record signing Mesut Ozil, who was making his home debut for Arsene Wenger’s side.
